Underrated for sure. It's pretty good!

I think this is my favourite album cover of all time. I love how Iommi manages to look like both Pauline Collins and Tom Contis characters from the classic 1989 English comedy drama film Shirley Valentine.

Summary says it all.

However, I would hardly call this a complete mess. Not even the worst vintage 1986 MTV-metal album made by a 70s band I've heard. Far more entertaining than Digger's Stronger Than Ever, that's for sure.

Poor Iommi. He looks embarrassed on that cover art.

Man, with songs such as no stranger to love & in memory, Iommi and Hughes were definitely aiming for mass appeal and the female buyers. Not sure if that tactic worked though hahaha

Not one of their best records but I'll be damned if Heart Like A Wheel doesn't rip like hell.

I agree that it doesn't sound like a Sabbath record. The record is ok if just viewed as 80s hard rock, but it pales in comparison to almost all Sabbath work. You can tell it's Iommi when he solos.

His later solo albums were better, not as good as Geezers three solo albums…but still really good.

discog walk; Tony guitar play is stellar as usual, good hard rock album, "Heart Like A Wheel" rule

Indeed, it is more like a solo Tony album

Definitely, agreed. This is solid and I can't remember the last time I jammed it, it would probably sound even better now.
