My dear autechre-fan, I absolutely agree with you! Post Rock, once an interesting, krautrockesque genre with innovative bands (Stereolab, Tortoise...) is now overrun by self-important emos who pretend to be intellectual, by writing songs that go over 30 minutes long and do feel like thousands of minutes. This music neither offers appealing details nor are amazingly structured, they're just plain boring.
And all these albums are made with ridiculous pretentiousness! "Look at that album cover, what does it mean? Woah, the car is burning, groundbreaking!!!!" and "2:43 - this is where the world collaps into one piece of toilet paper and I wipe my ass on it..."! Thank god there are also music artist out there, who do want to express sth. in their music...
Still I have to say, that even GY!BE sounds ten times better than Sigur Ros' pompous "( )", which is one of the worst albums I've ever listened in my life!

Yeah, I know that "pretentious" is a no-go term on music forums. But even if the term is abused by people who describe it to anything that they don't get, it still has it right to be used.
Just look at the track titles for "Lift Your Skinny Fists..." and tell me that this isn't pretentious...
