This is their best though. Actually. LCW is like a 4.7. Trucker's Atlas goes on a tad long. This is a 5.

And if I'm allowed to get crazy, Building Nothing out of Something tops LCW when I'm in the right mood, too.

@fishing it's good to see some BNOOS love in here, it's their most consistent after all

Yes, the B-Sides comp is their most consistent...

actually as many A-sides on there as there are B-sides so like

also have you heard Modest Mouse b-sides? they're better than like 85% of the albums they come from

Disagree

The best song on that comp is ‘Broke’ and it wouldn’t make my top 5 songs on any of Long Drive, LCW and M&E

Track flows on LCW and M&A far superior, lyrics on both far superior, thematic feel of both far superior

If you look at the tracks other than ‘Broke’ half of them I’d like to edit down by a minute...the other half reduced by 2+ minutes. MM do great long and mid length tunes but they misjudge a lot on that release and nearly every idea is overstretched. Feels like a trudge to me.

It’s decent though, just never clicked for me as an ‘album’

We all have our go-to filler word(s). Mine are "uhhhhh" and "man"

My uuuhhh's are derived from my time living in NY, I think. It's a variation on the ehhhh's you'd typically hear there

I hate how the updated Spotify upload lops off the tail ends of "Perfect Disguise," "Tiny Cities," and "A Different City" - severely damages the flow of that part of the album

Uh-oh - Spotify is my primary way of listening to music. Is it significant enough that I should track the album down somewhere else when I check it, or is it not a big deal as I’ll be hearing it for the first time?
