Sweet, but I honestly get the feeling nothing else will impress me more than this. I like this a lot better than Endtroducing or Mezzanine tbh...

I know they sound nothing alike, but those are both considered essential albums from their respective genres, both of which seem to be the main influences here.

I think Aphex Twin is more likely a main influence than anything trip hop.

Well, for me Endtroducing >>>>>>> Mezzanine, but I'm probably in the minority on that one.

And I've never given Aphex Twin a proper listen, so I'll do that for sure. This album is seriously so visual for me though, I just doubt another album can produce such vivid visuals for me. Idk if that makes sense but its the way I feel.

i feel really uneducated in these types of genres when i see people talking so knowledgably about them. didnt even realise this sounded like mezzanine =(

This doesn't sound anything like Mezzanine really. But yeah, I get the sense that people talk about Mezzanine a lot more, but Endtroducing is probably the more well-respected album overall. Mezzanine isn't life-changing though imo, while Endtroducing def has some power to it.

In that interview I posted a couple pages back he mentions Aphex and drum n bass as stuff that got him into the genre, which makes complete sense because his music is just like a crazier, faster Aphex with some hip hop thrown in.

This is pretty fucking crazy dude, idk... Maybe you're listening to this record, but I'm hearing it. Or maybe I'm just naive about this kind of music (which I am), but seriously this album speaks to me.

And yeah, Proph, that interview was pretty great, and led to my eventual 5'ing of this in a way. I just can't stop listening to this, and its fucking perrrrrfect.
