i adore Party Adjacent but tbh i feel like Jeff did a weird job with the production and instrumentation. i unno just for some reason i think Dan's voice and songs dont fit with the lo-fi sound Jeff used. plus theres like a lotta fuckin sounds on that album; like a lotta the tracks seem a lil overstuffed with instruments. on Hurricane Season theres so much more breathing space in the mix and the production is crystal clear and imo that whole approach worked better for whatever reason. i think if they did Party Adjacent with a bit more of a crisper, cleaner sound and cranked Dan's vocals up in the mix so that his croon rlly shines thru the instrumentation, the record coulda been a lot more powerful and affecting and memorable. btw Is This Thing Cursed sounds a bit like Pretty Teeth from that album. lotta great cuts on Party Adjacent but gotta say Snake Bites is one for the books, yo
still cant get over the fact that Dan is opening an Alk3 album for the first time ever...hope the album is like half Dan songs

pretty teeth and snake bites are two of his best songs ever but i don't think i've fully gotten into party adjacent yet. i'll be spinning it a lot within the next few weeks tho
yea the t/t is just pretty teeth with matt where the louder part is longer and the slower part is shorter
