I remember reading all sorts of dumb bullshit on christian websites when this came out. They were basically claiming that there was a glut of satanic death metal bands trying to corrupt christian youth by falsely bearing the christian mantle. It seemed really dumb but it did not help that not long after, AILD admitted that they hadn't been christian for a long time yet continued with that image because it was hard to break away from it. Even though The Powerless Rise is a record that lyrically reflects almost entirely christian values inadvertently despite being nasty and violent musically. Yet those sites mostly focused on the fact that the cover depicted hell (LOL). I just thought it was dumb because those sites condemned them without even remotely looking beneath the surface. Take opener Beyond Our Suffering, a track that sounds so evil and destructive, but if you take 2 seconds to look at the lyrics you'll realize that they completely fall in line with christian values despite the 'evil' aesthetic.

I dont think his career is over at all, i think he'll do just fine. It wont be what it used to be but he'll be making decent money.
