I was listening to this while getting ready for work and then threw on Carlin for the drive - and that routine on phrases that don't make sense is what kind of prompted me to write the review... true story (and I found $5).

Anyway, this is poppy but there's room for poppy metal. Also, it isn't anything special but it's still good for what it is -- poppy metal.

Trey, why do I have a suspicion that at multiple points of this review, you wanted to throw in "You know, the kind of stuff DaveyBoy likes"? LOL

ha ha, slipping some sort of Daveyboy reference into the summary did cross my mind ;)

The strange thing is that apart from a song here or there, I've never taken the time to properly listen to these guys. Would you put them in the same basket as Disturbed?

Kind of. To me, Distrubed is the more credible and talented of the two bands. These guys also adhere (barely) to a more traditional metal style than Distrubed. Also, Distrurb's vocalist is much better. In the end, though, they probably share a lot of the same fans.

Thought that may all be the case, hence why I've listened to Disturbed's albums and not BFMV.

Just listened to My Betrayal on youtube. Pretty decent aside from that goddamned whispering. Also the beginning was totally St. Anger.

I liked S,A,F so maybe this is worth my time.

It would be worth checking out once, at least. This isn't nearly as bad as a lot of people here are making it out to be.

No doubt about it by the sound of it & the 3.5 rating.

Their first album was pretty great. I remember worshipping it back in the day. This was not so good, not awful by any means and a step up from Scream Aim Fire IMO, but still not good. It's a shame.

The Poison was awful. Tears Don't Fall was the only semi-positive aspect of it.

This is pretty much spot on. Looks like I'm being a little harsher than you in my rating but this is sitting on about a 2.2 for me so I could go either way.

good review though. I actually like your view point. Everyone here fuckin hantes mainsteam music, but hell, not everything can be undeground and for a mainstream band BFMV delivers.

Yeah, that's kind of my point. It's not going to be well-recieved on a site like this, but I like it and figured I might as well put something out.
