This band never really did it for me. When Sick of It All was touring a lot, bands like Unearth and Poison The Well were just starting out. To me, the more metal brand of hardcore was just BETTER
LOLWUT?? Go listen to Bad Brains, DK, Circle Jerks, Minor Threat, etc. then come back young buck. This band is fucking legendary, case-closed.

Sick Of It All’s style hasn’t changed, but then again their approach hasn’t changed much after decades. The riffs are still simple, the sing-a-long choruses are still effective and the energy is still palpable. What sets Based On A True Story apart from some of the band’s lesser albums is the Koller’s ability to write poignantly about how their lives are changing yet sustained by their memories and roots.

Rise Against aren't horrid, they're just not a hardcore band. The people that compared the two bands were just trying to find the best comparison that people might actually recognize.

I just don't have the time to review old albums anymore. It sucks, but it's true. I'm actually half way through Dave Mustaine's biography so that I can write a review about it.
It would be cool if you ended up doing Just Look Around ;)
