LOL. This made me laugh.
This isn't deathcore. It's technical/progressive death metal with some weak vocals. Band has potential, so long as they either get a new vocalist or stick to the lower growls.

After tons and tons of listens I've settled on a 3.5. Started out as a about a 2.75 but has been getting better with each listen.
Overall I feel this is a very solid debut for a very promising, VERY young band. There are some moments of sheer greatness here, but also some rather weak moments as well (most notably, the screaming vocals).
Don't feel this is 4+ territory.... but their next album might be. And oh yeah... no core at all here, keep dreaming sceners!

Just listened to a few tracks, doesnt sound very deathcore to me. Sounds pretty decent.

to me it sounds like progressive death and i personally loved this album and even the vocals. the song farthest reaches reminds a lot of arsis but i think the first, the serpent is my favorite. its definitely not deathcore, though, seeing as there are no breakdowns. I guess i could see how people might not like it cuz of the vocals but i personally feel as if they flow perfectly with the music and even still u should listen to the instruments, they are intensely sweet

This is cool; good melodeath with shred guitar playing and really good musicianship. Say what you want about the vocals, I like them, they fit just right into this band.
