I had no idea people here gagged on this album so much. I don't get it in the slightest - I loved the first two, but this is

beyond bland and formulaic. Every song has a huge, boring, hooky chorus, the interesting guitar arrangements and

atmospheres are absent and Anthony sounds absolutely terrible here… the only good tune is Fever Dreams, and Atlantic

almost asked them to removed that song from the record since it's the only one without a big chorus hook. There's a

reason they only made one album with Atlantic… this is clearly their weakest album by a very wide margin.

I agree mostly, but I think there is more to this record than just Fever Dreams. Frozen Creek, Spirit of the Stairwell, Dyed In The Wool and Glass Arrows are all fantastic, though not what Circa Survive is known for.

Huh? I'm not familiar with the Atlantic story but yeah the album is painfully average. Fever Dreams and Glass Arrows are the only listenable songs here.

i felt free is one of my favorite songs of theirs and i've liked every album since juturna was out for a year. the only people that hated this were people that already didn't like them and the "it's not the old material so i don't like it" fans that come with every band

Imo this was a nice change up after OLG which I thought was a bit too samey sounding the whole time. I didn't really BSN much at first myself but when I went back to it almost a year later it felt entirely different. I really dig the emotion on this record.
