Something interesting I noticed during the South Park episode "Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers". So the plot of the episode of that goth and vamp kids are getting turned into emo's by some rehabilitation camp. Of course after one the goth kids got taken and converted, they had to replace all the old goth posters in their room with new emo ones. South Park couldn't use the real band's names, so they made up names similar to those of popular emo bands. One of them was Tommy Ate Earth, obviously a play off of Jimmy Eat World. Now as some of you may know, the band is named after Tom Linton's younger brother, Jim. During JEW's first two albums, Tom had a larger part in the band, doing nearly all the vocals for their first album and about half of the vocals on their second. Now it could just be a coincidence that South Park chose to use the name Tommy (after all, it does share 3/5 of the letters in "Jimmy"), but maybe South Park is actually big JEW fans and decided to play off of one of the band's members.

It's crazy how much I zone out while listening to Goodbye Sky Harbor. It's mesmerizing repetition makes it seem like it's a lot shorter than it is.
