I remember really enjoying this right after it came out last year, though. Enjoyed it for about a month, kinda forgot about it, then just tried listening to it again. Couldn't even finish one listen-through. Kinda boring.

I enjoyed it for, I'd say, 2 days. Then I put it away. I'm sad I spent 15 bucks on it.

Hmm, I don't listen to this album on a daily basis, but every time I've have, it's great.

"Hmm, I don't listen to this album on a daily basis, but every time I've have, it's great."
Word. I can't listen to anything everyday without getting bored with it. But when I'm in the mood for some instrumental-rock soundscapes, Red Sparowes delivers.

Bass rules on this album.
Anyone have any suggestions on other post rocks with the instrumental layering that Red Sparowes have?

I think of If These Trees Could Talk and Pg. Lost but in all fairness they aren't so very super extremely like

Only a decade behind the game in finally listening to this one! And I was expecting a let down with this based on the overall response but in fact I was pleasantly surprised. I think the approach they have taken with this album means it’s strengths are also its weaknesses. If feels to me like they have consciously taken a different route this time and forgone all of the obvious builds, crescendos and quiet/loud/quiet structures. Instead the sound here is warm, fuzzy and altogether quite mellow. There are even little moments where I get a pink floyd or the doors feeling. It’s all on the slow burn here. Subtly psychedelic at times. And the layers only really reveal themselves after repeated listens. Sure this isn’t a rollercoaster of a ride and it doesn’t really command your full attention, so there is a tendency to let it drift into background music - but stay with it and I think it makes it worth your while, if a soft pillow of sound is your thing.
