It's gonna slay. Hoping for an Effloresce type album. But whateves it's Oceansize they can do whatever the hell they want.

I'm thinking it'll be much more of a MFN/EIP type album. I don't think we'll ever get another Eff-like album. Those songs had many years to develop. That whole album is like three EPs separated by instrumental tracks.

A 3 part MFN you say? Now that sounds pretty awesome.

Haha, I fucking WISH. But I meant that Effloresce is pretty much three earlier EPs' worth of songs rerecorded and separated by short instrumental tracks. I have no doubt that had 'size recorded about five more legit tracks for MFN, that it would be considered their best. Such a shame that Superfluous wasn't released on a full-length. Truly one of the best songs I've ever heard, and not many people will ever hear it.

Oh yeah my bad. I get you now. I have their earlier EP's too, so you're right, they did have to a bit of time to develop before they were made into Effloresce. But I haven't heard Superfluous. I thought the only EP they had from the EIP era was MFN.

Superfluous to Requirements is off of the New Pin single. Pretty sure it's only on the CD version of that, as I have the 7" New Pin single and it has Empirical Error instead. You should download Superfluous, though. I can promise it'll become one of your favorite 'size songs. It's an absolute must. Along with all of their other b-side songs that are found on EPs and singles.

i have to say, i only heard super imposer a couple times on their myspace, and i dont wanna listen to it too much without the album, but it didnt strike me as up to par with the rest of oceansizes work.
a full length MFN would be perfection though, to be honest i like MFN more than frames, but i cant really consider it better because its easier to get flow and such right with only half an albums material.

I'm actually listening to it now. They should've put this of the album! It's really good. I think I have to go and find all their singles now.

Yeah these guys have quickly become one of my favorite bands, over the course of 3-4 months all three of their LPs are currently 4.5s and that's not something I tend to give out lightly.

Dude. They're all 5s. You just don't know it yet. So is MFN.

Yeah MFN will be my next purchase. So difficult to pick their best release though, it seems to be whichever one i'm listening to at the moment is the one I like the most.
Trail of Fire is so good.

It's a first love type of affair for me. I generally refer to EIP as my favorite 'Size release, but picking a favorite is damn near impossible. It's almost ignorant to try to choose a favorite 'Size or Elliott Smith album.
