its hard to keep that dm beat on TDS for 11 minutes straight and still do all that crazy shit in the background. i usually start fucking up around 8 minutes in because theres nowhere to rest and i start sweating like scottie pippen on defense. especially towards the end when he starts alternating on and off of the other members offbeats.
6:00 sounds hard and it took me a while to pinpoint exactly everything he does, but its really not once you get it down. I swear I could play it in my sleep now, but then again ive played drums for 11 years.
Hardest DT songs for me:
-The glass prison (13 minutes of pure endurance without getting tired is the problem)
-The Dance of Eternity (I mess up around the last 30 seconds every time.)
-A Change of Seasons (It's not really that hard but I mean, come on, its 24 fucking minutes long. At least Octavarium waits about 7 minutes before the drums come in.)
-Stream of Consciousness (I dont even think Mike Portnoy hits all the same cymbals during live performances. But wow that is some crazy shit he does on the studio version.)
