"what are the best tunes in the back half?"

"Last 3 are godly, but I Want You rules too and is kinda overlooked"

Wholeheartedly agree. I Want You is the perfect mood set-up for the last three tracks. Sets the vibe so that The Background and Motorcycle Drive-by can slay your heart.

Oh man, this album came out when I was 15/16 and fell in love with my girlfriend. And then my first heartbreak when we broke up. This album was the soundtrack to that year, and got me through the good, bad and ugly. Will always hold a very special place for me.

But it’s not just nostalgia, it’s a fucking fantastic record period that I still listen to. And I’m a fan of every other 3EB album — love Out of the Vein (2nd favorite) and Blue, and like Dopamine and Ursa Major (still pale in comparison to the others).

This has bounced between a 4.5 and 5 for me, but I'm sure if it had that major nostalgia factor, like it does for so many people, it would be the easiest 5 ever

It has that sort of weird alternate universe nostalgia for me, where even though I didn't have this album aside from the constant play of the singles it takes me back to that time regardless, purely on its sonic characteristics and feeling of the record as a whole

A few other albums have this effect on me, despite not having "grown up with them" so to speak. Siamese Dream for example

Agreed. It's like one the most 90s' "sounding" albums I've heard, and also gives off a strong summer vibe which somehow makes it more nostalgic

It's kinda awkward when the lyrics sound like they were written by a 22 year old and then you find out the dude was in his mid 30s

My favortie album of all time. A record where the singles do not give the rest of the record justice.

That would be a damn impressive 22 year old to write these lyrics. People in their 30s deal with love and loss too!

Kinda see where source is coming from tbh, doesn't really make this any less of a great album imo

Yeah not saying this sucks or anything, I just didn't picture the singer being 33 when this came out
