I like You, the vocals are really good in that song. Apart from that though ...

I suppose the band were finding their feet.

This has always been my favorite Radiohead cd. Maybe it's cause I lost interest in them after OK Computer I guess.

Don't really understand how anyone could like this more than The Bends

yeah. This is not bad; it's just... meh. The Bends was such an incredible step forward from this.

And then ok computer expanded on everything good about the bends. There really isn't a damn thing about this album better than anything radiohead has done after it.

exactly. Every single style they tried here was later perfected in the Bends and Ok Computer.

promising debut..... and probably the only decent album in radiohead's discography; has its moments; you is a great opener- quite depressive tune in comparison to the rest of the album; a beautiful song anyway; stop whispering and thinking about you are close to ideal; lurgee is another track here charming with its honesty; and i cant find no words for blowout's ending ... just perfect; on the other hand the rest of the songs sound quite meh (i never liked creep too much) , so i think 3 is a fair rating

I really have very few problems with this album. I can't criticize this album because "The Bends", "OK Computer", and "Kid A" are albums that are perfect or at least near perfect albums. I take this album for what it is, very solid alternative rock. Greenwood shines throughout this album, there are hooks everywhere, and Yorke sounds fantastic in the majority of the songs.

It has a good mixture of brit-pop and grunge, while being a very guitar-driven album. I think this album should be praised as being a great debut and not criticized for not being what Radiohead evolved into.

It wasn't even considered a good debut when it came out, it was considered generic, run-of-the-mill and bland alternative rock with a strong single.
