John Frusciante was EIGHTEEN on this album!
Wat a brilliant guitarrist, but he actually doesn'#t think he was very good on Mother's Milk.
But what an evolution this band went through from this to BSSM.
Good album, but the band really did get better

I've got to admit though, this album seems quite lacklustre, none of the songs are brilliant or anything and you couldn't honestly hold it up as the Chilis best album, but it is definitely worth having
Alot of ppl wont like this though as it's torn between like very heavy rock and funk and everything. Could have been much much better with a little more time

Doesn't anyone have the "newer" Mothers Milk with the 6 additional tracks?
Amon them is an instrumental, titled "Song That Made Us What We Are Today". Nearly 13 minutes long! It has a really cool guitar on it and, although it is a bit long and repetitive, is one of my fave tracks on the album.
Sayng that, it's no where near Higher Ground or Johnny, Kick a Hole...Mother's Milk is a class album, but not quite up to BSSM or Californication, my two favs. Chili's 3rd best IMOThis Message Edited On 06.09.05

I used to have this album. Too bad I lost it.
Blood Sugar Sex Magik is a more superior album IMO.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik is a lot more mature-sounded. The songs are more varied in their style. Some reckon it's not as funky because of the lack of slap bass but think of it more as a whacked-out parliament type of funk with sparse licks and wah-guitar weaving a groove rather than note note note note note note note note note note note note note note note note note note note note note note note note note note in like three seconds to create a syncopated get-up-and-jump kind of party funk.
