Ha ha, I am actually digging it so far, I am a little over half way through the album. I couldn't handle much of The Crusade and after I heard a few songs from this and the Metallica vocals kept coming through, I assumed they were still going for that style. So far, he has a pretty decent mix between the clean, metallica themed and screaming styles. I will probably end up picking this up some day.

title track is the best...its like trivium trying to make an opeth song (heafy has mentioned blackwater park as one of his favorite albums).

yeah from listening to you talk, you wouldn't like crusade at all. stay away. its not that good anyway

Noted. I will continue to keep my distance from it. What do you think of their latest album?

At first I was disappointed, because it didn't have that gradiose/intense/epic quality that Shogun had. But it is damn catchy, and I had it stuck in my head for months. There are still screams/hetfields/clean singing so its not that huge of a departure. There are a few duds, and overall it tends to wear off, but I really enjoy it. The guitar work is top notch, as it is on all trivium albums (even the crusade)

Oh, yeah, the guitarists kick ass. The first song I heard was Like Light to the Flies and I was sold after that for Ascendency. I also love Washing Away me in the Tides, the intro/verses and solo are awesome.
