The whispered vocals rock here, "Sleep And Dream" is a favorite so far.

On the other hand, while the song that does close the album is good… it is also forgettable compared to the rest of the album.
This is, sadly, very true. Otherwise the album pretty much owns.

It really sucks that they didn't do much more than this album, I'd love for them to be together still.

The vocals make this album for me. Her voice fits the atmosphere like a glove. This is hovering between a 3.5 and a 4 for me...decisions, decisions.

Nah it's better than 3.5 vocally, let alone lyrically.

I suppose, but I normally can't really dig female vocals (not a Bjork fan, she needs to be angry more and sing less) and the whispers on this continue to astound me.

She helps make the album.

I suppose, but it's the main draw of this for me (as other post-metal groups do the whole vocal-less thing just fine, I want some words occasionally and this fills that gap).

I just happen to like her style here, it fits for me.

I've not tried to listen to her outside of this.

Perhaps, the ambiance of this helps her style a lot I think.

it goes both ways. I really like her in parts, and other parts I just wish she would stfu.
great album in either case imo
|

I've also never heard her in anything else.

Vocals only tend to urk me when a singer's p's, t's, s' and d's are very pronounced (verging on a
lisp). That shit damn near makes me homicidal. I hate feeling my ears are being cut into.
Like that vocalist of Waxahatchee. Good god, does she make me want to eat my own foot. And that
asshole from Purity Ring. She is actually the one that made me hostile.
