And lol at the chiodos guy talking bout poorly formed literature references; may I suggest reading the lyrical content of Bone Palace Ballet? It's called bad references to Shakespeare.

I never really liked this album, but I think people disagree with the rating more then the review itself.

This is all bullshit. For a post-hardcore record, TOCS is awesome. Look at other post hardcore releases that have gained bands success. Shit like Emarosa, A Skylit Drive, blessthefall etc....and none of them have released anything as good as this record. While it is easily Underoath's biggest shortcoming, it is certainly not a 1.5

You are a fucking idiot, post-hardcore albums like The Illusion of Safety, Worhsip and Tribute, Relationship Of Command should be what you're basing the genre on, not a pile of shitty popcore bands. This album is terrible, esepcially considering everything else this band has done.

Review is fine, if at times a little pretentious. Doesn't matter though because you're right.

From a completely objective standpoint (having not heard this album) it's a pretty great review. Pos.

Lol @ Popcore. Sticking whatever you want in front of "core", does not a genre make.

Bad, bad review.

Dude, according to a music specialist at my school, metalcore wasn't even a word before 2005.

Popcore is not a real genre.

No it's a blanket term/abbreviation for any band that fuses pop punk and hardcore. Its pretty much accepted vernacular just like christcore is an abbreviation for christian hardcore. And arguably with number of bands who play pop punk with screaming, breakdowns etc. There's a fairly good argument that popcore probably is a real genre.

Popcore is an up and coming genre pioneered by the band Monaco Clothing Heist. It consists of hardcore influenced music with pop vocals to create an onslaught of awesome sounds.
-That band sounds great! I love the awesome music! What and who is this?

-Its popcore. Get used to it.

When you start hearing hardcore on the radio, they'll call it popcore
