tbh Unholy Cult would be better if the production wasn't so... whatever the hell you wanna call it.

HIA's production is clearly better than UC, so yeah.

I like HiA's production better than UC as well. Neither of them really sound bad though.

Also, what's the issue with someone thinking this is their best? HiA is my favorite, and there's others I prefer over this album, but this is still top tier Immolation so I don't really see a problem with that lol

HIA, FFG, CTAWB, and this are all close for me. which one is my favorite depends on the day.

Yeah those are my picks too, along with DoP. Sad that so many people neglect FFG just because of the production, such a good album.

i actually came around to that shit production, i like it now. its really just the kick drums that need some tweaking.

it definitely is underrated. there are just so many other amazing albums that overshadow it.

Definitely disagree there. FFG is easily one of my fav dm albums ever, and at the top of Immo's discog right along HiA, CtaWB etc. A lot more people would get into it if it had better production.

"i actually came around to that shit production, i like it now. its really just the kick drums that need some tweaking."

Same. I feel like the kick drum just sounds a little flat overall, the clicky sound is only really noticeable during sections where only the kick drum is going off (e.g. in Stench of High Heaven). But those parts never bothered me, kinda sounds cool tbh.

Eh I love FFG but it’s not on the level of many of the others imo. I don’t mind the production though, never have.

Idk, most people who criticize it always seem to bring up the production. I still think it goes just as hard as Close and all the rest musically, but I guess it's redundant for me to say that at this point lol. Also the solos on that album are downright chilling, some of Vigna's best work imo (same with the riffs of course).
