Floyd are def overrated but hearing Rush vocals and some of the melodies makes me wanna off myself

When you come to it
And you can't get through it
And you can't knock it down
You know that you've found
The wall
The wall
The wall

I would prolly still think prog was gay if rush hadn't bridged the gap but they are definitely critically lumped in with like, styx by most people

I dont think floyd are overrated but it's definitely "mood music" and tends to lack most of what I dig in prog

I love 67-71 and animals though

Yeah when I said overrated I didn't necessarily mean they are average or anything

It's just there's a handful of other prog bands' seventies output that I like better

Forgotten Sons is perfect.

How the hell is that song on a debut album?

I may miss a joke here, but I'm just amazed that a perfect song like that can be on a debut.

YOU'RE JUST ANOTHER COFFIN

ON IT'S WAY DOWN THE EMERALD ISLE

Jammed the album a couple of times last week, still holds up. Considering this was their debut, and Grendel was their first song, these guys started their career really strong.

That's arguably the album that started the neo-prog subgenre. It's already a good reason to 5 it, but it's also quality music from A to Z.
