You would think making music like this would cause poor songwriting to occur, however they seem to make songs out of these insane constructions of riffs quite well. The songs do seem to have climactic points and a linking relationship of all parts, with changing moods.

agreed 100%. Its like this is going to fall apart at every point with those zany riffs and sections, but they manage to keep going and going without dropping.
My only gripe with this is that sounds samey on a lot of spots, but after that, this rocks.
