This is very cool so far. I guess you need to spend a lot of time with it for it to open itself up some more though, like many of you said here. Love the production, everything is easily identifiable. Drums sound great. Bass is super audible.
A difficult one, but great for sure!

This album clicked for me immediately, however it’s meaning and it’s place in my life have changed over and again the past decade. In that sense a lot of time is needed. Although the word need almost feels wrong as this isn’t an album that is difficult to listen to or enjoy. An album like jane doe as a 16 year old may require more listens as it is probably ones first time hearing something that jarring. This however is so beautiful you will come back to it regardless of need to find more truths it can produce.
A difficult one, but great for sure
Again i am not sure I understand the phrasing. It is a layered and likewise immense album though difficult seems almost sacreligious a term to describe something so perfect in sound. for me the troubling nature of this album is trying not to listen to it as i find find it tremendously melancholic. It conjures so many feelings that i dont want to feel though like any addition I simply cannot refuse its grasps

What makes it difficult or hard to approach for me is:
- It's denseness: it's a very instrumentally full sound with lots of layers like you describe, which can be quite daunting;
- It's length: there's a lot to take in here, over 80 minutes of music, varied yet monolithic, complex and with many ideas, yet the tone is similar throughout;
- It's atmosphere: there's so much gloom here, it can get a little claustrophobic for a first-time listener, especially taking into account points 1 and 2 together with this.
It being hard or difficult doesn't necessarily mean it can't be beautiful, right? Lots of insanely beautiful things can also be difficult.

Yeah idk I found this kind of 'difficult' and by difficult I mean occasionally boring. There are some cool ideas on here though, I need to revisit in all honesty.

Ah! Fair enough. Differing interpretations of the word 'difficult'.
Below the Salt is gorgeous by the way.

Try jamming smile from the streets you hold by John Frusciante . That is a difficult lp

Yeah that's a difficult LP too, but in a wholly different way.

Haha, I didn't, but I skipped through it a little and it sure was something. Difficult-ness was oozing from every second.
