smoke on the water drags on for sooooooo long with that same riff and then occasional solos. such a boring song. ugh.

Yeah but its the first song pretty much anyone ever plays on guitar, so youve got to give it credit.

I think DP has better stuff than this, but this is still an amazing effort. Pictures of Home, Highway Star, and Space Trukin' are all great tracks.

The purest form of a classic record. All songs are good, fun to listen ,memorable moments. Greatest riff ever(Smoke On The Water)...it deserves a 5.

Machine head is a definite classic a very well rounded album from melodic hooks of pictures of home and lazy. Of course the always classic smoke on the water the first song i learned how to play on guitar including the best yet heavier tracks highway star and space truckin now that's bona-fide classic.

Fantastic album straddling the line between hard rock and heavy metal. 'Smoke On the Water' is simple and catchy, and 'Highway Star' is one of the greatest high-energy rock tunes of the '70's. Solid all the way from start to finish!
