The funny thing is I'm not even butthurt on anyone else's opinions. I just like this album and enjoy talking shit on megadeth, because dave mustard-stain is funny.

Yeah KILL that Rust in Peace remaster sounds like shit but it's not representative of most modern production

Isn't the one Mustaine lost the vocal tracks of and had to re-record them?

ps: I'm ashamed to say I only have that specific remaster of RiP in my collection and it's one of my fav thrash discs ever anyway.

yea is just an obvious example of crushed dynamics perhaps a bit uinfair as its a remix but so much punch is lost due to it all being one level of noise, theres no pop, which is the problem with this and many other modern records

I finally took the time to fully check out RIP. eh fuck it, i used to not like mustaine's voice but i think i got over it and can actually appreciate em. that album pioneered progressive metal but it also has the thrashy side too which is cool

EH for some reason I thought RIP came out around 88 but i was wrong lol. you could argue AJFA, that album and OP Mindcrime were early prog metal pioneer albums, i guess "pioneer" is a bit of a stretch though

AJFA... No thanks. Yeah some old school prog metal was tinged with thrash (Watchtower, Fates Warning, Psychotic Waltz come up to mind)... but that's it.

ps: DT's first disc is a 89' release, FatesWarning had already sort of shifted towards prog in the late 80s, Operation Mindcrime is from '88.. I mean.

If you want an album that really sounds bad, you have Death Magnetic. Damn, i can't even get past the first 3 songs because it gives headaches.

Some good jams on here but holy crap some real unnecessary attempts and stabs at trying to be trve proggy on here kills it
