Vocals are fine (I appreciate both the original and album version of Goodbye, which is indeed one of the greatest songs of all time), and musicianship as stellar as ever. Toe's best work yet, in my opinion

I wanted to listen to Goodbye, so I typed "Goodbye" into the Spotify search bar and decided to just scroll through every result until I found it. It took an entire Joyce Manor album before I got to it. Just in case anyone's looking for a way to spend their afternoon.

The idea of a new toe album coming out next month scares me considering the bar they've set for themselves. Really hope it's as good as the others.

One of the best Japanese bands out there right now. Goodbye kills me every fucking time.

This plays out like a math rock version of a Do Make Say Think compilation. I dig, feel it'll be a grower though

This is a solid grower, starting to give TNT some competition

Tortoise! That + DMST are the closest comparisons I can think of to this, and TNT has always been more favourite for this kind of post-rock

Ah yes, Tortoise were an influence for sure.
Have you heard The Book About My Idle Plot on a Vague Anxiety? It's a lot better imo

No, been meaning to get round to that; will give it a check. Need to dig further into the other bands you rec'd me, been listening to their early stuff a lot
