I heard they severely decreased the amount of gore in the second one, so for that kind of movie, it probably killed it. first, let me say Damn. And yeah you're probably right, if a movie like that is goreless, then it can't possibly be great. It's a pure gore movie for christ's sake.

I was never really a big fan, though I dig the camp horror appeal.
I've heard Hellbilly Deluxe and The Sinister Urge, only ever really felt them in parts. The theme to House of 1000 Corpses was pretty cool as well.
