Yeah I'm actually really interested in getting this and I will eventually. Industrial metal was never my thing, but I'll give it a try.

Well that explains the chainsaw, you were muttering something about how that tree was "giving you attitude"

No way, Wizard is way way to kvlt to cut down trees. He actually enjoys nice walks in the forest during brisk Canadian dawns.

A solid effort. Will be picking this one.
Hoglan is insane here, though one step below his landmark work on "Symbolic" imho.
The riffs are intense and well put, but monotonous somehow, making the drums sound one-dimensional as well. But this is industrial i assume :-D.
To my ears, FF is No. 2 of industrial metal, Meshuggah being No. 1.-

I've always thought that Gene's best work was on Death's "Individual Thought Patterns" album. He'll probably never have a chance to do an album like that again, unfortunately. He's kind of been cast into a certain role because of SYL.

Totally agree.
As for Mechanized, in the beginning I missed some of the groove, I think that's because my favorite album by FF is Digimortal (and then Demanufacture),but I changed my mind real easily, this album rules, it's their best in years (since Archetype imo)

This is why you're staff and will always have a better opinion on all things metal compared to most.
This is fucking awesome! I've been hearing alot of top 10 talk running around this album. Doesn't quite feel like that, but this will most likely end up in my most-improved band section!

I didn't even know he did the drumming on that album, and i've listened to it hundreds of times.
It explains a lot though.

Yeah I was a bit quick to say that. Metal is looking extremely good this year and I know about 5 releases that will be better than this in my opinion. Not to add the amount of surprises which will pop up.
Don't detract it from the album though, probably up in my top 5 for "fun" metal releases.

This is a WONDERFUL return to form for Fear Factory. They really stepped up their game for Mechanize. It wasn't a perfect album, but it ranks up there with Demanufacture, for sure. I wish that there were more tracks, there are only around nine tracks [minus "Metallic Division"] and the standard FF release has about eleven.
I LOOOOOOVE the material on Mechanize, I just wish it was longer.
I wonder if this will make them heavy enough to tour alongside Meshuggah. THAT WOULD TOTALLY ROCK!!!
