"however, you mean make a RACKET, not a racquet, they're not playing tennis "

where does Beherit rank among first real BM bands?

6 years after Bathory, they formed in 1989, so they are a bit later to the party.

but as far the 2nd wave ie Mayhem, Darkthone, Emperor?

They fit into the second-wave period but their origin (Finland) and their sound really doesn't match second-wave. I mean, they sound nothing like Darkthrone or Mayhem or Burzum.

yeah but unlike Venom there is no doubt that Beherit is a "true" BM band and the fact that they're from Finland earns them points for originality, it means that they weren't just copying bands that they had a friendship with like Mayhem, Darkthrone, Burzum

Well take a look at Blasphemy, one of the very first bm bands and they are from Canada. Word spreads quickly in the underground, that's for sure.

well I should've guessed you felt that way, remember I said you beat me to the Drawing Down the Moon review? I was going to mention their importance in BM as far as influence, you didn't do that and now I know why.
no offense btw, it was a great review but I thought you would give them a little more credit for being one of the 1st BM bands

Supposedly the Norwegian and Swedish black metal scenes hated each other. I guess they like Finlan because they are pussies and no threat?

All I know is that black metal musicians hated death metal. I remember Euronymous talking shit about Deicide, Emtombed and Napalm Death in many interviews

Everyone hated Beherit. Someone actually made a band named "Fuck Beherit"
you would give them a little more credit for being one of the 1st BM bands
I would've if they were formed a bit earlier. They formed in 1989 and didn't release anything until 1990, by which time the second wave was gaining momentum. I hesitate to call any second-wave bm band "one of the first". But hey, opinions are opinions.

Lol at all this unjustified hate, jealousy, animosity whatever the fuck you call it between the leagues of scandinavia and Florida.

btw about this death/black rivalry, Mayhem and Darkthrone were more death than black early on

Well us Americans are mostly egotistical pricks so it comes as no surprise they hated us.

They wanted to be grim and evil, and hating everything is pretty grim and evil

The Black Metallers hated death metal, but they liked Morbid Angel because of their satanic based lyrics.

And then there was Necrophobic right in the middle, probaly getting ignored by the elitists.
