I gave The Latter Rain a 3, just saying.

Up to track 5, and so far I'm absolutely loving this

You won't hate it. Well, you'll hate Wayakin, but that's to be expected.

Just to add my two cents about Wayakin - I really don't think it's that terrible of a song. Although I definitely agree that it interrupts the flow of the album and it's definitely not on par with all of the other awesome songs on this CD, I wouldn't go as far as to call it fucking terrible or that it puts a huge scar on the album. It definitely isn't unlistenable imo- the solo redeems it a bit and the hook, while pretty simplistic, is infectious enough to not be annoying. Also I don't really understand the thought that the song sounds really contrived because the bad is Norwegian, or even some people saying that it would be a decent contributer to the album had the they actually been Native American. Who cares if they aren't actually Native American? If they respect the ideaologies of Native Americans and feel like they want to write a song expressing that, I don't see the problem with it. Yeah, it definitely could've been executed better without a doubt and is overly long and substantially less awesome than the rest of the CD, but it's not complete garbage and I wouldn't skip it on the way through the CD. Even though the CD would be better off without it, I don't think it's as bad as everyone else makes it out to be.

Don't like "Dark Prophets, Black Hearts", "Wayakin" and "Sombre Fall, Burdened Winter" but otherwise solid album. Oh and great review dude.

Best song for me is still Captivating Solitude. Vocals kinda killed Dark Prophets for me.

I love the keyboard swells at the end of Captivating Solitude.

4.5 for the album, + 0.5 for progressing even further and being an awesome band

Also, anyone else have a crappy country/folk song at the end of this album, titled "Wayphearing Stranger"? It doesn't seem to be officially on the album, but for me it is there. It's pretty bad though, if it would be a legit part of the album, I'd lower my rating haha.

I'm honestly not too impressed from what I've heard from Youtube, and I'm almost done. I'll give it a few more honest listens though. This looks to be a 3.

It was decent, I just felt like it lacked direction.

I thought they had a sense of direction there. I would agree that the album seemed a bit disjointed in parts (only a little, though), but imo a direction they were going towards was there

Mannefall and Ain't No Lovin' should be changed. I don't blame Crysis though, because the band have teh tracklist on their myspace like it is here atm. Listening to the album though, it is certain that Ain't No Lovin' is #2 and Mannefall is #3.

Also, I have no idea if Wayphearing Stranger is actually on the album. I just know that I (and you, bodom) got it
