Personally I feel Everywhere And His Nasty Parlour Tricks destroys this and most of their catalog

Hate to be this guy, but what's so wrong with We Were Dead? Sure it's not as good as The Moon and Antarctica or Everywhere and His Nasty Parlour Tricks, but it's still pretty damn good. I love March to the Sea, Parting of the Sensory, and Spitting Venom.

As for this cd, I love The Whale Song and King Rat.

In short "We Were Dead..." is safe and pedestrian for anyone who knows what this band can and has done. But yeah, it's still good...

I enjoy We Were Dead enough to listen to it occasionally, but for a band that's put out 3+ classics, it doesn't quite add up.

I somehow let this little EP pass, and dismissed it as probably just some B-sides of their newer stuff. I don't understand how this thing didn't gain more notoriety. I think it's genius in a lot of places. The Whale song is easily one of MM's best yet.

It's good stuff but the band can do so much better. 'King Rat' was really cool though, I like that song a lot. =)

Totally, King Rat is incredible. I'm still really surprised by this EP. The only song I wasn't into was the Bed song. Everything else at least kept me interested

I think We Were Dead is significantly a step down from Good News, which I find to actually be a really good album even if it was the pop breakthrough whatever for them.

We Were Dead has a few really great songs (in my opinion), but lots of pretty crappy ones.

I agree but I actually liked both We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank and Good News For People Who Love Bad News.

Still, their music has been going down in since Good News. Hoping their new LP picks up. =)

I dont know.... I'd say this EP is a little bit of a bounceback after We Were Dead

Thanks and nothing beats Randy! "What seems to be the officer, problem?"

What did you think of 'Missed the Boat' by the way?
