Yeah, this is screamo/post-hardcore if you take the worst elements of both genres, put them together, and piss on them.

Sure, but this isn't screamo. And since when was Alesana metalcore? Since they threw pointless breakdowns on top of bullshit pussy attempts at metal. This album is growing off me more and more everytime a song from it turns up on my itunes shuffle.

oh. my. god.

alesana was one of the FIRST posthardcore bands i ever heard (OFWOVAW had just come out) and i loved their first cd and they were automatically my FAVORITE band, but then WMFTL came out and i loved that WAAAAAAAAAAY more! then i heard "theyre coming out with a new CD!" and was sooooooo nervous....not excited....nervous....alesana did SO well with being amazing and creative on WMFTL i thought: "yay, new cd finally, but...what else could they do that is as creative and amazing as the stuff on WMFTL??? they did everything out there (that sounded good from them) on that cd! oh no...i hope they get some new ideas..." and they got new ideas alright...BAD ideas, as I predicted....the concept and story are really good, and a few of these songs are pretty good...but its not "alesana" anymore...they went all softy on us...and not gay, like i liked, with the waaaay high singing and all that...its like shawn went through puberty again and his voice dropped....and he is/was the best part of the band...and back to the "softy" thing, the part in "The Thespian" where Dennis growls "night. as. dark. as. my thoughts." and soon after "light.ning. nips. at. my heels." with pauses (at the periods) and guitar trying to be strong to accentuate the pauses that's fluffy as clouds and the drums sound like some softy is tapping them, is all actually laughable and a terrible move for an, other than those parts, actual good song and a good farewell gift from the old alesana to remember them by...so...yay...i like one song...which hs its flaws...thanks, "favorite band"...you LEFT ME with an "Emptiness" alright!
