Best album I've ever listened too. The lyrics and story are just amazing. Every song is original as Alesana always is. I love it!

I was just about to point out the lack of arguing on this page, but it seems I would have spoken to soon. I would have thought the arguments would have started on the first page though.

When music hits you emotionally, that's what makes me remember it in my opinion. If you listen to an album and your just like oh that breakdown was sick! and theirs nothing left in the song other than that what makes that song more than a breakdown? But oh well, music is all about opinion. My opinion still stands.

That's fair enough dude, if it hits you like that then I respect your opinion on it.

I have to agree with wilbur on that one. This album containst emotion all throughout it. If you read the lyrics you can really sense the emotion the music pulls off even better. Their first cd to me had more of an angry feeling to it. When Myth Fades to Legend had kind of a more happy/sad emotion to it and this one simply has every emotion you can think of. It changes with every song and I think that it is perfect. Not the cd, just the emotion.
My favorite song off this cd has to be Annabel. Such a catchy chorus, and a heavy as hell guitar solo (i think its a solo) right in the middle of it. I cant help but headbang to that part its amazing.
Ok im done rambling.

Alesana has always been one to twist stories through their music, and The Emptiness is no exception. In fact, this album is one continueous tale; the physical album even comes with a booklet of chapters to detail things. Luckily, the story never becomes an annoyance like with the last release by The Early November; instead, the plot lines are mainly found within the vocals, and not so much in intermissions or narrations. This being said, The Emptiness is less memorable than the previous When Myth Fades To Legend. More like On Frail Wings, this album is entertaining but leaves you feeling like things could've been done larger. "The Murderer" is the first track to really stand out, but even it doesn't live up to its potential. "Hym For The Shameless" starts off with an instrument of screams, and is well developed song throughout. The single "The Thespian" follows, and is one of the best tracks on the album alongside "To Be Scared By An Owl". Alesana has always fought with the problem of missing potential hooks and breakdowns, but they are growing with every release. The Emptiness may not have lived up to the hype in my opinion, but it is a great album nonetheless. Just don't expect it to one up When Myth Fades To Legend. (www.fearless.com)

There's no way Where Myth beats out this album. All Myth did was make a few of their songs worse than they were before. Still some good tunes on it though.

I agree with you on where myth, but i think the best songs we the re recordings of the ep ones...

vocals are hilariously goofy. ROAR, SHRIEK followed by a whiney clean constantly.
