So I'm kinda afraid to listen to this, the Shrouded Divine is like one of my favorite death metal records..

I agree with Cocaine on a few points, but I've been told and read that 5-6 attentive listens can justify writing a review. Many users follow that rule from what I know. Does it read like its rushed?

In one day? No. I mean, there is no rule, but it should be common sense that you shouldn't really write on a first impression. If you're listening to something that much in one day, I still consider it that.

I don't like rating an album until at least a week of listening, let alone writing a review
|
| |
Alright, that makes sense, though some people do keep their first impression of an album. I don't know; if that's true, then I may need to discredit a large number of my own reviews and those of others as well. If it's well written and backs up a point than I don't see what's wrong.
For future reference though, I will make sure to give future reviews more time to make sure I don't run into a problem with a possibly different first impression. Thanks for the comments and advice.

Idk I don't see any flaws in the review, infact it's pretty great. And with new, greatly anticipated releases like these, it's always good to get them off in a hurry.

Thank you!
I hope he replies. It seems like a gray spot really. I can tell when a user rushes a review - it shows, but some people are able to take in music and critique it differently and more quickly than others.

What? No it isn't. Why would it be good to rush it out? Like I said, it's not a race. It's not like the album is out anytime in the super-near future. That's what you need to remember: it isn't a race.

I wish that clicking on a review would take you to an index of all the reviews so that getting yours flagged wasn't important.

Album is excellent, but not quite as good as The Shrouded Divine. Could've done with less chugging and more groovy riffs.

Gotta pick this up pronto......
Shrouded Divine was amazing.......
EDIT: review was good. Pos'd

I agree, it's not a race - the main subject here is the music, not how fast I write - but seriously, some people write about and take in music really fast. Getting my review flagged isn't my goal; I just feel it's exciting to write about a new release. Yeah there is a risk of losing the picture or writing a terrible review, but I tried to make sure that didn't happen and not all people have that problem anyway.
Thank you, Childofhate.

In one day? No. I mean, there is no rule, but it should be common sense that you shouldn't really write on a first impression. If you're listening to something that much in one day, I still consider it that. Hey now, some of my best reviews were written on first impression.
Going back to my earlier point, I guess I'm just wired differently than most Sputnik users. Listening to the same song twice in a day wears it thin really quickly to me, let alone a full album (this one being nearly an hour long) upwards of five times. I also tend to listen to my iPod on shuffle and not throw on albums unless I just got them.

You guys are idiots and Cocaine is right. I haven't heard this but I don't doubt it sucks.
|
| |
so i listened to like 30 seconds of the first song, and the chug and the yelled vocals are atrocious
|
| |
Do you like the debut at all?
|
| |
yes

The chugging is way overdone in the first song but that was probably the weakest song on the album for me.
|
| |
theres horrible chugging in at least the first 3 songs i stopped listening after that

Are chugs really that bad to you people? It's not like constant breakdowns or something. Do you hate the entire genre of thrash too?
