Thanks CB, I was thinking of playing this for my plants while I'm at work, but your plan sounds better.

the hooks on ONE are delicious
i just wish the second half of the album didn't bore me to death

i like ambling alp. so is this worth it?
|
| |
ambling alp is actually pretty awesome

ambling alp, I remember, and ONE are what I'd consider "recommended tracks"

I agree that this album isn't spectacular, but this review was kind of weak in making that point.

definitely a fair criticism, I had trouble formulating exactly what I wanted to say about this album.
|
| |
this might be nitpicking but i fail to hear fun. in "Ambling Alp"

i heard it specifically in the vocals

hmm, i'm not too sure about it, but it's a pretty insignificant name-drop/whatever you want to call it, so it's probably fine, haha.
on another hand, i really liked this review. i feel like you put more thought than usual into how yeasayer and this album fit into the indie spectrum these days. it might not comment on the -quality- of the album that much, but i feel it's pretty spot-on about them being condemned to just being compared to other bands, or a recommendation if you like [insert band]. nice work.

just realized i made a mistake calling Anand Wilder the lead singer. That's a mistake, it's been corrected.
|

this was irritating.

of the covenant" line, and yes, "ambling amp" is fuckin a

Ample Alp rules soooo hard.

I REALLY like the last two Yeasayer albums. I'll be getting this. Very well-written review too. Although I don't know if I agree that Yeasayer won't break out in a few years. Time will tell!

your description actually rather sold me on the song, which i'm listening to contentedly now
there's something deeply wrong with my taste
