I don't think anyone here is hating Mnemic because they sound commercial; people don't like this much because it is flat-out boring

I'm on my first full listen here, not that bad at all. Looking at a 3/3.5 here.
I agree they could've tried a bit more in making it... less predictable, not to mention some of the horrible choruses.

Not every album needs to be excessively innovative in order to rock. Mnemic have always rocked hard - great riffs, quality production values. Not every metal band needs to mix myriad genres like Sigh in order to be listenable. Solid album.

I complete agree with sphygmo, people tend to hop of anything that's mixed with 5 different genres and has 15minute songs. that aside, this album actually just sucks

ok well at least you gotta admit that this lead singer is a major step up from the one who did the first two.

Honestly, I found this album to be RIDICULOUSLY satisfying. I don't understand why it isn't as popular as it should be, but IMHO, it has everything I LOVE about Mnemic. I DO wish that it was more technically complex, but that is just an afterthought. I feel like Guillaume is finally comfortable in Mnemic, as his vocals perform circles around his performance on Passenger. At times he even sounds like he is channelling Michael on almost every track. It's a wonderful release, very theatrical.
I just LOOOOOOVE this album, and I don't care if it isn't that popular around here on sputnik. I feel that it began well with "Sons of the System" and finished off with the optimistic "Dreamjunkie".
Bravo, Mnemic. Bravo!

i can't get into this album. i like their earlier stuff, but it feels like on this one they not only have a more watered down sound, but less energy, and they're writing lazy, lazy hooks. it doesn't sound commercial, it just sounds, like so many others have already said, boring.

their worst, but still good enough for me to enjoy.

These guys shit on every american "core" "modern" metal bands ever.

i'm just listening to them for the first time so i haven't really formed an opinion.
weird that meshuggah is labeled as a similar artist yet i have never heard them mentioned in the same sentence as meshuggah before.

A lot of the older stuff has Meshuggah influence.
This album is mediocre though. New singer sucks.

Am I the only one who think this album is really good? Oh well...The review is well written but I disagree. New singer is a beast. Michael is nothing compared to Guillaume IMO.

Michael voice fitted perfectly with Mnemic's music imo. Although Guillaume is also a very good vocalist, here his voice sounds like his forcing things by trying to be tooooo mellodic and toooo extreme at the same time.
