You consider this cd a classic?
Anyway, responding to the points made a couple posts back...I actually like Fran singing more, now that he's improved greatly. He was pretty whiny one The Ficiton We Live and Too Bad You're Beautiful. But he's vocals improved, and I honestly view Ben to be a VERY mediocre screamer. He has no range at all, and it sounds very uninspired, especially on this album.
All in all tho, this album is horribly mediocre. Although, I find that all their cds are. Sugar Wold and Abandon Your Friends are the only songs that keep this as even average. As those two tracks beautiful. This Message Edited On 01.31.06This Message Edited On 01.31.06

I find it funny how you go around blaming people for listening to "Mallcore", while FAtA is nothing different

Here's some news from their site:
If you've read any interviews that we did around the release of Abandon Your Friends or if you paid attention to lyrics on that album then you, like many other people are waiting for FATA to break up any day now. Instead, we signed up for a slot on the entire Warped Tour and started writing new music. It's true that we were expecting a break up, mainly because over the
past two years the band has been coerced in a direction that we never intended it to go. It's easy to say "I don't like this, I can't relate to it anymore so it's over". Thankfully we went on hiatus for the last few months and had a chance to clear our heads. We realized that at the end of the day we are all still very close friends and we love playing music together. We just needed to get back in touch with the fundamentals that this band was founded on. The main goal was always to have fun and the most fun times were when we were five guys in a van playing music because we loved it. There was no other reason to do it.
This genre wasn't popular and there was no money to be made. We played in houses and basements with Bleeding Through. We played in coffee shops with Taking Back Sunday. We played shows with Avenged Sevenfold where the band members were the only people there. I'm not trying to give a "keep it real" speech on the ethics of underground music. I'm just saying it's important to remember where you came from because for a while I forgot and I was miserable. Breaking up is the easy way out. I'd rather look at all the bad decisions that have been made and try to fix them.

For me this is between a 2.5 and 3. I like it more than I used to, a lot of the album is very catchy, particularly 'Sugar Wolf'.

Drummer can't sing to well. But I dig it enough for some repeat spins.

He's decent around this era of the band but he didn't sound like he had good breath control on the first album. I think this album really killed a lot of momentum for this band; it had a few good songs they just weren't that big of a hit. They don't even play any songs off this in their live album.

Definitely the FATA album that I revisit the most, pretty underrated IMO! I like how varied the tracks are yet the album remains very cohesive (despite apparent band problems during the recording) and quite unique.
Where do you draw the line, Short for show, Jack & Ginger, The funny thing about getting pistol whipped is, Long to go and the beauty of the title track are my picks.
