And, I think I might drop the rating. All the emotion has worn out now.

I think I like this album as a whole better than transatlanticism. But the song transatlanticism is one of the most beautiful songs my ears have ever heard, which alone makes that album a lot better than it is.

This has pretty much my 3 fave songs by them (What Sarah Said, Brothers on a Hotel Bed, I Will Follow You Into the Dark), so by default it makes sense its my fave by them.

if i was going by that logic my favorite death cab would be Forbidden Love because every song on it is perfect.

I must say that this album makes me cry every time I listen to it. The sound of the instruments and the lyrics possess a sense of magic.

Album is solid, but Soul Meets Body just may be one of the greatest songs ever.

guys i have a sincere question about what sarah said:
is he watching her die?
|
| |
yep, watching the descending peaks on the lcd screen
seems like in the song he is finally coming to terms with how much he loves her, even to the point of watching her death. the question at the end is probably more pointed, while at her yes, but to himself as well as a sort of profound thought that he answers by merely being there.

yeah, i could never work out from the lyrics 100% whether he was actually watching her die or just in the waiting room without the nerve, courage, strength to be physically with her. i always believe that he is but a few lines just make me think differently and it would totally change the song. such a fragile song overall.
