This isn't the best DCFC CD though. I would go with Transatlantacism or The Photo Album.

yeah metallicaman8, it really depends on what you're used to. judging by your name, i'd say don't check out any death cab. however, id get plans if you like pop, transatlantacism if you like indie-pop, or we have the facts if you like indie

wow okay i don't think you realize how much of an elitist attitude that is. i'm going to admit it, i discovered death cab for cutie through the o.c. does that make me less of a fan? it's not a bad thing that a band is getting noticed. the o.c. is a well-written show (although overly dramatic at times), and i'm sure ben gibbard is more than happy to be treated like a god on it.

...nobody ever said that Death Cab on the O.C. is a bad thing. They're saying that they're becoming more popular because of it. I see where you're coming from, though.

It only annoys me when people say that the O.C. made Death Cab.

O.C. gave them popular exposure. It doesn't mean it 'made' the band, they were producing amazing music long before the show was written.

This argument is quite dumb. Death Cab did a song for The O.C. People who watch the O.C. like the song and got into Death Cab. Big deal, I say! Death Cab is a great band, and who cares how people got into them?

I know, that's what I was saying.
There really isn't any bad songs on this album. Some are worse then others but I don't find myself skipping anything (except maybe 'Crooked Teeth', depends on how I'm feeling).

Ahh, Crooked Teeth is the second best song on there

It's not that I don't like it, I've just listened to it/seen the video on Fuse to much.

Good Review. I would have to say this album is also exceptional and well written in many ways instrumentally and vocally. The lyrics are also amazing as always with talented Ben Gibbard behind it all. It was also nice to see that "Brothers On A Hotel Bed" was not written by Ben but another band memeber and that is easily one of the best songs on the album as well as "Marching Bands of Manhatten." Transatlanticism was the breathe in and Plans in the breathe out I think this album comes off really well.

Marching Bands of Manhattan

Definitly one of the better (if not best) songs on the album.

what death cab song is on the O.C.? just about everything.
at least from "Transatlantacism". i'm not quite sure exactly which songs were featured, but i know that "title and registration" and "lack of color" were on there. also, death cab for cutie played a feaux-concert at a feaux-venue ("the bait shop", also featuring the killers, modest mouse, rachel yamagata, the thrills) on the O.C.
okay i would never say that the O.C. "made" death cab for cutie. i WOULD say, however, that the O.C. helped make death cab for cutie more popular. and honestly, what's wrong with that?
personally, i think "we have the facts" and "something about airplanes" are far greater than "transatlantacism" and "plans", so i'm not COMPLETELY controlled by the O.C.

the o.c. suxs....its just about rich kids and the irrelevant problems. I didnt find dcfc by watching the o.c....it was more by word-o-mouth. ;)
