Brothers on a Hotel Bed is still one of my favourite tunes. Gets me right in the belly button.

i think i prefer this to trans. trans has like 3 or 4 incredibly epic songs right towards the end, whereas this has a lot of balance throughout the whole thing. that said, none of the songs here match we looked like giants or passenger seat

Walking home at 9:30 listening to "Marching Bands of Manhattan" is almost a religious experience. I have some problems with Gibbard's lyrics (the namedrop of "Father Time" in this album makes me cringe), but I think the outro is a perfect bit of writing.

"Sorrow drips into your heart through a pinhole

Just like a faucet that leaks

And there is comfort in the sound

But while you debate half-empty or half-full

It slowly rises

Your love is gonna drown"

Just works all the way through.

It's actually my favorite DCFC album, and I am a big fan of the band. I know my opinion is unpopular, although I'm very biased. This album has songs that helped me feel better whenever i was having a rough time during the high school years, which have ended now for me, so there's a personal motive there for it being so good in my opinion.

Transatlanticism is a close favorite, although I'd say not all of the songs in that album are memorable. Some are masterpieces, some, in my opinion, more mediocre. Kind of like with The Photo Album. The only song that I don't care for in Plans is Different Names for the Same Thing. But my love for the rest definitely outweighs it.
