Oh my sweet balls. Can't wait to listen to this.

Harsh vocals are a bit weak but otherwise this record slays hard.

Goat Horns is alright but seriously overrated.
and as a package The Voice Of Steel far and away surpasses fellow Ukranian band Drudkh’s latest album Microcosmos,
I highly doubt this but I will take your word for it. I can already tell you that Drudkh doesn't need bells and whistles to get their point across unlike the abuse these guys put on their sythesizers.
Excellent review as always. Would I enjoy this based on my feeling around Gay Horns?

Damn, 5 days before the new year. Classy, Nok, classy.
(also, Goat Horns is amazing, Karl just likes retarded metal. probably thinks EMPEROR does a better symphonic black metal album than Goat Horns. Ha)

Awesome review. I had this downloaded two days ago and then my pc decided to shit the bed again so I guess I'll have to wait to hear it.

They crush this band a million times over. No Emperor = No Nokturnal Mortem. Symphonics on Goat Horns are abused to death. I still enjoy that album though hahahaha. And don't go around thinking your a big shot when you discovered metal yesterday, just for the record.

Personally, Emperor was always a decent band to me, nothing more. Anyways, I really dig this album. The folk sections (which rape Scandinavian folk), clean vocals, and prog rock soloing are some high points to this record.

The folk parts on this album sound interesting.
Going to give Goat Horns another proper listen. T'was a year ago when I last heard it. Kataxu rules this genre as well.

Eastern Europe has been tearing it up lately, not really sure if Norway is still producing anything incredible.

Karl, I'm not sure if you've listened to any Nokturnal Mortum post-Goat Horns but they ousted pretty much all of the keyboards, the only serve as a light atmospheric touch here. This is guitar driven music.

The folk embellishments are awesome though, they make me feel like I'm in some medieval castle during some kind of feast.

Thank you Kyle, that's all I wanted to know. Oh, and this album also proves my point about making 'End of the Year Lists' too early.

As Wizard said to me when I posted my best of 2009 list: "I hate to say it Crysis, the year isn't up yet dude"
He was right. Album of the year for me.
WOW, you just made my day. Scary how Wizard's can see into the future.

Doesn't seem like something you'd enjoy, rasputin.

Not what i expected at all. Україна sounded kinda poppy lol but good album nonetheless.

Emperor are so boring. Rasputin, you would loathe everything this band has or ever will do.
|
| |
I can see why you would think that about their final two albums, but ItNE and AttWaD are landmarks in the sub-genre (and also metal in general).
