The Back to Black vinyl edition sounds crystal clear to me, if anyone's interested.

I find it hard to rank Dire Straits albums because the albums are consistent in their quality but the songs on each album tend to be quite inconsistent

check communique, it's a lot less consistent but once upon a time in the west and follow me home are two of their best tracks for sure

Only album of theirs i haven't spun actually, i'll give it a chance and tell you what i think later. As for this album, down to the waterline is an all time fave.

only six blade knife, in the gallery and wild west end are forgettable for me. The first is just a mildly atmospheric, but musically uninteresting joint, the second is overlong and again, musically derivative, while the third is simply not that emotive for a ballad; somewhat hollow.
