I find it hard to rank Dire Straits albums because the albums are consistent in their quality but the songs on each album tend to be quite inconsistent

only six blade knife, in the gallery and wild west end are forgettable for me. The first is just a mildly atmospheric, but musically uninteresting joint, the second is overlong and again, musically derivative, while the third is simply not that emotive for a ballad; somewhat hollow.
