Idk that’s worryingly specific, erm... the Manics’ Holy Bible was an old ‘wallowing in depression’ fave though. What about the Mono/World’s End Girlfriend prayer thing or whatever it’s called?

For those of you who haven't found him yet, check out Tycho's first album. Heavily influenced by BoC, but very satisfying result, honestly it almost feels like a BoC album. His second album is great too, although more commercial. It all went downhill in the subsequent albums, so don't bother.

What's funny is that i haven't been getting into this album for awhile and just now, when i'm finding myself in a state of depression, this shit kicks in hard.

[2] I am an incredibly anxious person. Always worrying about some stupid shit. But when I throw this album on, everything bad disappears. All the dread, depression and anxiety lifts like a veil. Nothing else seems to matter when I'm inside this journey.

Funny that cyberpunk has become such a vague term that people apply it to both this and that terrible Netflix film Bright

I don't hear cyberpunk in BoC. Maybe a little in Tomorrow's Harvest. I always thought the gold standard of cyberpunk in movie form was The Matrix. As far as cyberpunk music goes I'm not sure, maybe Oneohtrix Point Never, Dead Cities by the Future Sound of London, or Plastic House on Base of Sky by Kayo Dot.

Yeah a lot of cyberpunk is dystopian. Dredd is another cyberpunk movie. A lot of synthwave could probably be classified as cyberpunk music.
