I really love this album. Best mainstream debut album in a good five years I think. Great stuff, cool simple guitars and a really different vocalist.

Cool lyrics too, but Take Me Out is defo about some kind of murder, but my favourite part is the weird factory style groove in the second part.

Then I guess that does prove it.

I suck at comprehending lyrics. :upset:

Oh, but now you can, young Knoxville!

This album is still a 3.5 for me, which is surprising enough since most bands like this tend to get very boring after awhile. Good job, Franz. "Darts of Pleasure" and "This Fir" are probably my least favorites from the album, while "Jacqueline", "Take Me Out", and "40 Ft." are probably the ones I enjoy the most. This Message Edited On 10.21.05

it pales a bit compared to their new album though

Sobolecta sums it up best, it is just a great pop album. I'd give it a 5 but that would make it a 'classic', which it's not really, but it is a five I think.

I love Jacqueline as an intro

Top review, well done. Franz is a OK artist, his music is so god dam catchy, it gets stuck in ya head and yer.

in not being harsh, but franz ferdinand is the name of the band, not an artist. and your right, they are insainly catchy.

true, but his real name is Franz, isnt it? still its Franz Ferdinand at the end of the day, whether he is an artist or a group.

This album is better than I expected. I loved Take Me Out for a while but it got boring, so I expected the rest of the CD to as well. Still a solid 3/5 for me.
