On the rancid thing I do like a bit of 'time bomb' but all of that era including all the revered stuff like bad religion and the skater stuff like pennywise and what have you just reeked of yank brat.

And Out Come the Wolves was ok, but by the time Life Won't Wait came out I kinda hadn't (waited) and I just wasn't really into pop punk any more at all. Fugazi were the closest to punk I'd listen to for a long time after that.

Nah, I think I've said it before my mum was an original skinhead back in the day. I remember in the mid 90s my brother coming home with a ska tape and my mum massively digging it and reeling off all the classics bless her. She really is a proper Hyacinth Bucket.
