Well deserving of it, it's a hard classic. Off the top of my head, I don't think anything comes close.
Just shocked to see a deathcore album on RYM of all places seen with such high regard

Progressive metalcore death core and djent all are made up genres
Metalcore is already a progressive genre being a fusion. Of death metal and hardcore. The death metal part of metalcore is just more apparent in "deathcore", but that doesn't make it a new genre. All metalcore has death metal influence in it
And djent is just onomatopoeia. Not a genre
All that shit is just metalcore

God the Guitar work on his album is killer. Berzerker and the Title track especially.

"Ometh" really hits differently now that you can suspect its upbeat melodies were probably the last vestiges of happiness mustering in a suicidal man

Also, if we define genres as sections of sound fitting into one or another neatly, then a band can be multiple genres at once - that's what most hybrid genre bands are like, after all. This band is therefore both deathcore and melodic metalcore - also djent if you will

shoutout to anyone who remembers when black dahlia murder was regarded as a deathcore band.
but truthfully it was more of a scene/who they came up with rather than how they sound, similar to how korn and deftones came out of the gate touring/collaborating together despite not really having the same sound. i saw after the burial when this dropped along side winds of plague/born of osiris/beneath the massacre, all of which were 'considered' deathcore bands in 2009
