This does not peter out. Or get old. Honestly I was amazed at the replay value of this, I glanced at my last.fm and it has something like the 6th most plays of any CD in my 16000 song iTunes library.

Quite possibly my favourite alt-rock album. Waking Up, Wasteland, Through the Iris, Paralyzing Kings and The Autumn Effect. All great songs. Their best acoustic song is on their latest album though. So long, Good-bye. But that album fails at touching this as a whole.

^ Pretty much exactly how I feel about them. The acoustic versions of Autumn Effect and Wasteland are beautiful.

Only alt-rock bands that can match 10 Years for me is Chevelle and The Butterfly Effect. The others just come off as bland mostly.

upon listening to this again, i remembered the one thing that bothered me the most about this whole record.
i absolutely love Paralyzing Kings, but abso-LUTELY hate how they end the song. it couldve ended much more powerfully.
its kinda petty and dumb, but thats the only flaw ive found in the whole album...

Killing All That Holds You is great as well. I personally think if I heard that album first I'd like it more than this one since it has most of the great songs on this plus a couple more gems in Blank Shell and At A Loss (Which actually has some screaming in it). It was a bit more nu-metal as a whole and I can totally see with this album they wanted to get rid of that tag and try for something to unbrand them from the nu-metal tag.

Haha, KATHY. Best acronym since Jimmy Eat World acronymized (that word rolls off the tongue funny).
However, It is strange that you don't like this Billy. I would of thought songs like The Autumn Effect and Through The Iris would be up there for you. They were amazing when I seen them live at The Riverstage in Brisbane. I totally hadn't heard of them before I seen them, His voice is spot on live. Check out the live youtube videos if you're interested.

I love Silhoutte Of A Life, probably my favourite song of theirs.
Also, TBE kicks the shit outta 10 Years. As much as I love these guys, my loyalty to australian rock is unwavering in that regard xD.
Also, Billy, tut tut. I'm disappointed.

Imago is the only one of theirs that I feel comes close to this album, but then again, I like this album too much for my own good, it seems :/

Nothing 10 Years does will ever touch Imago though. And I still vote In A Memory over every song 10 Years has done. But yeah, Wasteland, The Autumn Effect and Silhoutte are better than most TBE songs.

^ such a great song.
Idk, to be honest I felt like Imago got a lttle too mainstream/generic-ish for my taste at times, tho I have to admit In A Memory is fucking amazing (that bassline = yess).
I prefer this CD though because of the pervasively dark, haunting vibe throughout, as well as its amazing use of simplistic parts to create complex moods and feels. And I greatly prefer Jesse's vocals, no comparison.
