the piano version of "The Autumn Effect" is really creepy and fun to listen too, it is a bit different becuase there is no guitar. I thought the regular version was better, but the piano version is still good.

also, if you like these guys, check out their EP only available to buy on Itunes. it features 4 live accoustic tracks of wasteland, through the iris, prey, and fault line. very good

This album wasn't half bad. It does indeed get old rather quickly but there was still some good. Basslines were decent and the vocals were good as well. This Message Edited On 06.06.06

I like this album and the band is good, they are kind of a "simple" sound to me, but in all they are good to listen to.

I thought they were kinda like Staind. Although i don't listen to Staind so I wouldn't really know that much.

To all the guys who are doggin me. I have listened to the whole album, I maybe should have clarified I only like 3 or 4 of the songs. I have listened to the entire thing and like you said seether, they repeat the same formula over and over.

they mix a bit of tool, staind, breaking benjamin and somehow they remind me of P.O.D...

like you've said, the formula is same for most of these songs.

Hopefully this debut will be a step towards something better & more original.

I saw them on the Family Values Tour not expecting anything.

In all actuality, they blew me away.

This album is fantastic. I think they sound a lot like Chevelle and a little bit of Tool. This Message Edited On 03.06.07

All things considered, this is a really solid disc. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't slightly disappointed at first, because goddamn does Wasteland own me. This band is a breath of fresh air in the rock scene.

Wasteland is awesome, but I like Hal Life a little bit more.

Other than those two songs, and a few others, the cd isn't too much above average. The really strong songs helped bring this up to a 3.5 from me.

Great cd, I'm still not sure which songs i dislike from it... His vocals are extremely moving IMO, the instrumentals are cool and all... but the vocals definitely make the album for me.

Since this album came out a year ago i've been listening to it almost weekly. These guys are such inspirations to me. Jesse's vox are out of this world and the band's ability to be original in the hard rock/alternative genre is a breath of fresh air. I was so sorry I missed them at Family Values last year and why in god's name arent they playing it this year!? I mean comon Evanescene??? Hellyeah??? Saosin??? Atreyu??? TRIVIUM!???? It isint even worth 9.99 for a pathetic line-up like that! I seriously can't believe Korn would choose such mediocre bands to play their tour...shame...last year's was a trillion times better than this year. I mean the only band worth seeing this time is Korn and they wont play hardly anything except their new stuff...but I digress...

OK, Jesse has good vocals I agree, sort of Tool-style (more like Chevelle's Tool impression though) and the interludes between songs are fun if repetitive. But these guys definitely aren't very original. Sorry but they're not. They do have a sort of sound, or a vibe if you will, that will be more readily identified as theirs, when they make another album or two. But right now they're sticking with the same old post-grunge song structures. I'd like to see them expand a little. They're not bad but they could be better.

heh, this album is good. afterall, they were my favorite band for a period of time.

well, personally the tracks that i loved were fault line, wasteland, prey, and paralyzing kings.

i thought that the chorus of insects was ripped off the chorus off of wasteland.
