Ad Majorem has a strong death metal influence as well and almost every track on that album is memorable. If anything this album is the epitome of generic black metal.

you're right, it is really generic - but I don't much care about that, I still found it really enjoyable unlike Ad Majorem.
also there are only 2 songs on Ad Majorem I'd ever listen to again. this one I'd listen to almost every track again gladly.

I'm not sure why, but I really like this. I'm not a big black metal fan either, go figure. Prayer, Rebirth, New Breed, and Human Sacrifice are my favorites

Album is simply boring, though at least it's better than the abominable "Instinctus Bestialis". The only songs I thought were decent from this album were the first two, everything else is as average as can be.
